I need some advice on what to do.?
So, I got diabetes about 5 months ago, a classmate who I didn’t even speak with, told me she was a diabetic too. She said that she would be there to help me and that we will get through this together. I didn’t really think much about this. But we started to talk more about diabetes and she gave me tips and stuff. Then the talk led to talking about more of our personal lives. I started to like her about 2 months into our friendship. That’s when I found out she liked someone else. He ended up asking her out in December and of course she said yes. For the past few months I have still loved her, possibly even more. We always hang out, and I have always acted like a boyfriend to her, buying her stuff whenever we are out together, listening and caring for her feelings, and always finding a way to hang out with her. Then a couple weeks ago, we were just talking and she asked me if I like anyone, and I thought about it for a few minutes and told her that I liked her. I didn’t know if I should or not, but I was gonna do it anyways as I could not take it anymore. I didn’t know if this was gonna change us big or not. She told me that she shouldn’t like me and that its better if we just stay friends. She told me that I’m a big part of her life even though I have only known her for 5 months and same with me. (that meant so much to me) She said that it would be better off as friends because she didn’t want to ruin that friendship and that she wanted for us to be best friends forever. She then proceeded to ask why I liked her, I told her exactly why I liked her, she is pretty, smart, and has a really good personality. She denied all of this, but I told her that this is what she really is, and I liked her so much. I ended up having to say that I guess it is better for us to be just friends. And after that, everything was still the same, the way she acts and talks around me. Which brings us to now, I really don’t know what to do anymore, I still love her the same I did as when I told her. We have nicknames for each other that no one else knows, we hang out with each other by ourselves, I have met all of her family and she has met most of mine, she tells me stuff that no one else even knows about. At times, she would play with me, lay on me, and get close to me. I care for her so much more than anything else right now in my life. I don’t know what to even do now. I want to stop loving her but I know that that is never going to happen. I care for her too much for that to happen. The only way for that to stop happening is to stop being friends with her, I know that will never happen because we both promised to be there for each other til the end. But I have a feeling that I may have to break that promise, I cannot stop loving her if I am always with her and not truly with her. Any advice at all would be appreciated, thank you.

what am i supposed to do about this? my homework is way to hard?
so im a freshmen and in world cultures. i got the hardest world cultures teacher in our school. Anyways normally i can figure out all of his homework, but his weekend he gaves us an assignment that is just over the top hard. I figured that if i did a little bit each day that it would be easier. so i got everything done but im on my last 2 problems and they are just way to hard. i dont understand anything he wants us to do. i emailed a few people in my class and they said that they dont get it either so they are just going to make things up for it. I really just want to do a good job on it but i have no idea what im doing. i asked some of my friends in honors world cultures and they dont even know what to do. i dont want to just write down random answers because whenever someone does that he gets mad. if i bring it in and ask him about it he will flip out, he always does. I just don’t know what to do. I’ve been working on one of the problems for the past 3 hours and i still dont think its very good. and i still have one more to do. i’m stressed out, its almost midnight (i started my homework at 3 this afternoon, and started world cultures at about 6). im about to cry because i dont want to do bad but im just really really stressed.

what do i tell my teacher? what do i do about the homework?

You need to be honest and see him out of office hours and tell him you honestly don’t understand the assignment and would like it better explained, and that other people do not understand it either. Don’t forget to tell him how long and hard you tried to work on it. A good teacher will do their best to help you understand and explain it in a different way. If he gets angry at you for being honest then sadly he isn’t a good teacher/professor. (There are a lot of them out there unfortunately who don’t have the correct disposition to teach yet do it anyway because they cannot get any other decently paid job in academia ;p I like to refer to them as dry academics )

Maybe you should have put your assignment brief on here for us to help you with! This is the best place to start because people from all over the world will answer your questions -IM from NEW ZEALAND- and also there are many older students, and more mature minded people on here.

Anyways, to answer your question. Your teacher is a total d!ck for not listening to you guys. First of all read between the lines of your assignment brief… the answer could be right there. I have no idea what type of assignement this is but i would suggest using lots of references, quotes and images. If its about world cultures and about ‘people’ or countries etc, you should use direct quotes and sources that are from these countries.

PS: Have you tried asking another ‘nicer’ world cultures teacher? Or maybe another teacher. This always helps me!

What i normally do in a situation like this is give it my all, and do more than enough. You teacher cant say ‘this is over done’ coz he didnt tell you what IS enough. Just do your all, and they’ll all be blown away.

They have not and they will not.

An immigrant is here to make a better life for himself, or because of family. The pose no threat, never did, never will.

A terrorist is here to wreck havoc, they are not concerned with immigration laws, they would not bother with such nonsense. They would come here like they did before AS TOURISTS. There is no need to attempt to cross the border illegally, they can get detected and deported or they could die in the process of entering the country, that would be an idiotic waste of resources for the terrorist organization. However, as a tourist all they have to do is come in disguised among 61 million tourist a year, a much better, cheaper and easier route.

Nobody checks tourists nor should they and there are tens of millions of them. Thousands of guards patrol the border and there are only about 300,000 trying to enter the country a year, which route would you take?

No changes on immigration law or policy will or should affect US national security.

HR 6061 passed by congress today. Now it goes to the Senate. It asks for 2 tiered fence along the boarder. Its an emergency measure that would help take the necessary steps to address the crossing of our boarders. If it passes in the Senate, President Bush would sign it, or not. Depending on his mood for the day. Lets keep our fingers crossed, at least its a step in the right direction!

We need more than just border security, we need true enforcement and visa/employment tracking within the country to keep tabs on people. The illegals amongst the 9/11 plane crew overstayed visas, and police who stopped 4 of them for tickets after their visas expired never asked for the visas or regarding immigration status. Local law enforcement not only needs leeway to enforce, but restrictions against declaring sanctuary.

I’ll get back to this. It deserves a thoughtful response.

I think they are linked. We live in a Changed World, and foisting off your poor on some other country has been the ‘easy out’ for countries like Cuba and Mexico for years. That ‘easy out’ has prevented them from evolving nationally to the point where they can support all their people.

The May-Day mexican ‘parade’ basically illustrated for all and sundry that we’ve got a lot of mexican citizens that’ve taken up residence in our country, but still basically hold allegiance to Mexico. Ironically, the illegal immigrants themselves have made the strongest possible case for improving immigration enforcement. If ya wanna be an american citizen, fine, but do it the right way, do it the legal way, and leave all that other stuff behind, or don’t bother. 50 states, no more no less, other countries need to work a lot harder to fix their own problems,
and we need to enforce our border laws, simple as that.

We have bed bugs….what the hell to do?
Well i have been living in my place for coming up to 2 years…I’m very clean and never had any problem like this.

The girl who used to rent a room over the hall was nice and clean but she said she kept getting bitten…she moved out and that was about 7 months ago.

I moved into her room and at first everything was fine….i wash (ed) my bedding regularly, dusted and hoover every week as i like to be clean.

But the thing is, I’ve found these frigging bed bugs…we threw the bed and frame away and the landlord got me a brand new bed, i ordered it and everything was fine.

I came back from holiday last night and there were 5 of the bed bugs on my wall by the bed…and there were some little ones also.

I left and stayed in a motel last night and i got the landlord over and he was really worried. The house is brand new and clean so i don’t understand…

We are getting in the pest control people today, but i’m literally horrified…where have they come from? and do the pest control people get rid of them for ever?

I feel your pain…. I have been there fighting with nasty bed bugs…
You can easily get bed bugs, but they are really hard to get rid of.

When I found bed bugs on my bed, I was just like you; just bought a mattress.
So I really did not want to get rid of it, so I went to home depot and got sprays and foggers, but none of them worked. Then I got an exterminator but had to have him back several times because bed bugs kept coming back….

And I found Bed Bug Powder on the web. The powder is natural powder, and I would like to try it because the website also said it worked on the fleas and ticks. (I have a cat)

I just followed the instructions and bed bugs were gone away. I must say you can get bed bugs even if your place is spic and span. What you need to do first is to wash all the line items with HOT HOT water. I had to do that before using the powder.

Now I am still using the same mattress that was infected, and of course no bed bugs bites

Try the powder! it is way cheaper than pest control guys, and it works better than them

Hi. Ohh – I sympathise! They are not nice things, bed bugs, and once they get in…….

OK – firstly you did everything right – washing your bedding, changing the bed itself and frame, etc.

Bed bugs can survive in the carpets and hoovering in itself won’t cure the problem, only control it by getting shot of the mature bed bugs that have hatched. You’d need to use a proprietary product on the carpet pile itself to kill off the eggs and larvae. These things can also live, hatch and hide behind furniture even in amongst clothing – but they’re killed off in a normal wash cycle so don’t panic about that.

The pest control people know what they’re doing. They will use a trade-use-only pesticide that’s targeted at bed bugs, fleas and cockroaches that’s a type of neuro-toxin. They will spray everything in the room – and I mean everything. Once the treatment is complete and dry, there will be no smell, no residue and best of all, no bugs! They may well (depending on the pest control company in question and they’re protocols) then leave a repellent/pesticide treatment to discourage any other possible visitors, but I wouldn’t think you’ll have any more problems after the pest people have done their thing.

One thing that interests me is where did the infestation come from? Are you 100% sure they are bedbugs and not something else? Normally bed bugs come from mattresses where people haven’t been as fastidiously clean as yourselves. Now if a previous tenant from way back before you and the girl before wasn’t as clean, that could well be where they came from but I wonder – you say the house is new and you don’t mention any previous tenants. This could be a different bug getting in from outside, some type of tick I wonder? The pest people will be able to identify and deal with the problem.

Pierced Earring and a cyst on the ear?
My son has got a cyst on his ear surrounding his earring; our GP sent him to a surgeon who told him to merely put Sigmacort Ointment (cortisone) on it and that he had to take out his earring and let the hole close.

Does anyone have experience with having had a cyst on their pierced ear? Did you have to take out the earring or did you leave it in? Did the cyst go with the earring left in?

Any helpful advice gratefully received as he’s had his sleeper in for 10 years and doesn’t want to have to lose it…

It’s an actual cyst, a lump on both the front and back of the ear and not a new piercing.

i have lots of ear piercings and i had it many times, i went to my piercing shop and they told me that you need to soak it with sea salt water-not table salt.you can buy it at tattoo shops or at grocery stores.just put some sea salt with warm water mix it up and dip a cotton ball and soak it 2 or 3 times a day all of mines is gone.

My friends and I are making a film. We need a title!?
It’s about sex, drugs, a night out on the town, love, and friends. Two guys go for a night on the town and at the same time two girls do as well. Read the prophesy. 666 is the name of the anti-christ. Count the number of his name, it is a human name, No body knows who the anti-christ will be, but this is one way to tell for sure when he shows up. This is some christian thing that you will only find in the new testoment, Revelations. Now, the mark of the beast has something to do with the monatary system. Posibly a credit or debit card, because without the mark of the beast, one will not be able to buy or sell or own slaves. So it looks like humanity will go back to the stone age and have slaves if there is any truth to this prophesy.
